Bucharest 2012

Bucharest 2012 is an expression by the group on winning the 6th Int Jazz competition in Romania. The composition describes the bands epic journey from Slovenia to Romania by van in May 2012. The journey was full of adventurous moments that had to do with the fact that the band had no idea of what to expect in Romania or on the competition. The moments are described through parts of the song: some comical road moments are described through various rhythm patterns in the intro and outro, before the pattern calms down to a steady groove, followed by the theme melody. The theme is followed by a piano solo – the part that indicates temptation and anxiety - moments just before the band hit the stage in the finals, which is followed by rising solos and intense interaction in between, which creates a sensation of forward motion. The composition is concluded with a winning theme melody - indicating the moment when the Artbeaters were announced winners of the 1st grand prize at the Competition.
