Freedom: Saving Wild Horses

Julie McDonough's avatar Julie McDonough

My quest for this piece is raising awareness and support for Wild Horse Preservation. In 2010, I participated in Art Prize with a 12'h glass and steel Koi fish 3D sculpture and find this type of expression of mixing glass and metal on a large scale very exciting. Currently there is a struggle concerning the use of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands that have been preserved and dedicated for America's wild horses and burros since 1971 as cattle ranchers and other industry would like to utilize them at the expense of our native wildlife and tax dollars. This is a cause I am passionate about and would like to either sell or auction this piece and donate up to 30% of the proceeds to benefit the preservation and responsible management of America's wild horse and burro population.
