REFLECTIONS OF NATURE

REFLECTIONS OF NATURE A tribute to Fred and Lena Meijers. this primitive, natural wood sculpture consists of wood recovered from "up north" western Michigan from swamps and forests. There are even two uniquely shaped root stump pieces. Purple lights will represent Meijer's purple cow ice cream shop found in Meijer's super markets. Gorgeous scarlet and white gladiolus will be growing (not cut) integrated into this art piece. Forty year "cured" slabs of cedar are covered with mylar reflective foil. This process makes these slabs appear as Michigan Lakes frozen in the winter. Louis Benton was the best place as a venue. A large indoor area large enough for my natural sculpture. Leather couches will be made available for the viewer to take their time enjoying this natural beauty. Artist, James Michael Kristan will meet and greet the public for a Q + A. To be held the first Saturday, Sept. 21st of Art Prize from 2pm to 4pm.
