Michigan Native Wildflowers

Cheryl Gould's avatar Cheryl Gould

This is a series of watercolor paintings of native Michigan wildflowers. I began this series after I retired from teaching art in 2008. I love to wander in the woods and find wildflowers. I am always happy to see birds also, but find I can sneak up on the flowers to photograph them so much easier. Currently I am working on Wild Geraniums, number ten. So many wildflowers bloom with no person ever seeing them, yet they are such an integral part of nature, and have evolved with such specific relationships with surroundings.
