Thru this work I am re-creating my own culture in which I let the world know who we are through the subversive power of art. This particular theme will retain a degree of freedom, while exploring what it means to “resist”. The original piece in progress is an explosion of sensations: lush, radiant, eccentric, uninhibited. This entire artistic proposal is based on an insatiable quest for identity. This might be a complex subject matter that seems hard to understand, because it encompasses a group of islands, sometimes spread out to the continental coasts washed by the Caribbean Sea. The Caribbean culture is diverse; multi-racial, multilingual, transcultural. I am most concerned to recognize the Afro-Caribbean culture, a long acting cultural tradition in the area distinguished by its character of resistance culture.
