About a year prior, Cameron and Jill both had a day off for the first time in a very long time while working in Baltimore. They decided to explore the Eastern Shore of Maryland together and came across a beautiful spot called Wye Island. It had everything- farmland, forest hikes, wildlife, bogs and a 275+ year-old holly tree that almost seemed make-believe. It was a magical day that ended too soon. After months of ring searching, Cameron wanted to plan a worthy proposal. He had been writing a song called 'Long Winter' that expressed their journey as a couple. It suddenly dawned on him that he had found the missing piece to the complicated proposal puzzle. As soon as he finished the recording, Cameron woke Jill up early for a surprise trip. They returned to the magical place- Wye Island and there, under the old holly tree, Cameron sang 'Long Winter', got down on one knee and proposed. Cameron and Jill were married on August 27, 2011 in Omena, MI.
