My Landscape is a site-specific installation installed directly onto frosted glass. The materials used are Styrofoam, foam core, packing peanuts, pins, acrylic, enamel and cutout silkscreen print on paper. I have long been fascinated with packing materials and have saved them to use as materials in my art. This could be referred to as upcycling; giving meaning/beauty to throwaway materials. I also see it as being true to myself and my world. I am constantly intrigued with life right now. Styrofoam is from my time period in history therefore it reflects my culture. I collected this Styrofoam, foam core and packing peanuts from packages that were mailed to me. They were a part of my everyday life. By using them they let me explore and understand my world, and lend a new perspective.
