Quilt of Humanity

There have been many events and people throughout history which have drastically changed the direction of humanity. The question (which is very open to interpretation) is whether the change improved or diminished humanity and could it have done both? “Quilt of Humanity” is a kiln-formed glass art installation that traces the history of humanity from the beginning to the present. Through 36 different glass panels, the installation examines the major events and persons who drastically changed the direction of humanity. Was the impact immediate or did it take time? Where there side effects to the event? The installation measures 7 feet X 7 feet. The purpose of the installation is to encourage people to think about these events and people and their opinion of the outcome. How big was the impact? Is it still being felt? I am planning an audio-visual presentation that will accompany the installation which will explain each image and the process to make it.
