When Medusa Looked in the Mirror (LOL Medusa)

When Medusa Looked in the Mirror is a whimsical take on Greek sculptures. One can only assume her power of turning living things into stone applies to all creatures, including herself. Maybe it was boredom with immortality or vanity that made her decide to try gazing upon herself in a mirror. Either way, she has turned to stone herself and has joined the ranks of all the statues she had created over the years to collect dust. A lone butterfly lounges about on one of the ivy leaves - Medusa can do no harm, no more. This is a plaster statue. Not all of the mold was removed to create a look like she was encased in stone or like it was growing around her. A white paint finish makes it all blend into the same color as the white cloth so the background blends together as she is now one with the "stone" surroundings. The ivy is there to add color and make it appear like time has passed - local foliage is starting to reclaim the area.
