Little No Places

Rachel Bruya's avatar Rachel Bruya

“Little No Places” are made from lithograph buildings that have been warped and anthropomorphized. The buildings are facades, delicately standing by the weight of the paper they are printed on. They have no foundations. They are constantly searching for the perfect surroundings, moving & shifting until they are comfortable. The greeks had two meanings for the word utopia, and it is the meaning pronounced “eutopia” which is what I’m searching for. The place that doesn’t exist, that can’t exist, but we really want it to exist.
