Bid Me to Come to You

Richard Rogers's avatar Richard Rogers

This dramatic black and white painting portrays the moment of Peter's doubt when he had asked Jesus, “Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.” (Matthew 14:28 KJV) Jesus did call him out and Peter was left with the challenge to step out of the boat. The painting emotionally puts the viewer in Peter's place, from his perspective you see the edge of the boat, the waves, and Jesus calling out to you to “Come.” This painting will be presented in a large footed frame, designed to sit on the floor and against a wall, bringing the viewer to experience the painting as if they were standing in the boat themselves.
