River Escape

This work in progress is a 12 foot black walnut log with ample large branches protruding from it. It is fresh water river aquatic with wildlife intertwined amongst one another. I call it River Escape because the fish and animals incorporated into the piece are coming to life and live near or in a fresh water habitat. The animals currently included in the piece are a river otter, northern pike, frog, snapping turtle, and salmon. An important addition to the piece is the inclusion of invasive species that I hope will educate viewers about the risk they pose to native Michigan species. Some of these include zebra mussels, gobies, and lampreys. There is still a portion of the piece that I am completing that will incorporate additional wildlife associated with the fresh water habitat.
