On Thin Ice

I like to create art, to protect our environment, and to recycle. I wondered why people throw items out if they are slightly damaged, outdated, no longer useful, or simply unwanted. I see more than someone's trash. I create a work of art that has purpose, meaning, and beauty. The purpose is to illustrate how everyone can recycle and help Mother Earth retain all her beauty. Animals have no use for our material discards, but they do need protection from environmental dangers and damage. Certainly, one person's trash can become a beautiful reflection of artistic endeavors with relevant messages of environmental concerns. The animals are made with recycled material. The icebergs and water are made with five-gallon buckets covered in plywood from old, wooden sheds and mirrors. The mirrors also reflect introspection. It is a way for people to look at themselves and, hopefully, make a change in dealing with their material discards in an earth-friendly manner.
