LIBERTY

LIBERTY is an extension of the patriotic theme associated with the piece submitted by the artist in last year's ArtPrize exhibition, I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE. LIBERTY shares the same dedication as the earlier work -- it was created to honor those patriots who believe in the American Dream: for those we have lost, for those who remain and for those yet to come. In fact, many of the photograhic images used in last year's entry act as baseline inventory for this year's piece. There are approximately 2300 pictures representing a composite of images taken from a multitude of sources. The piece symbolizes the unity of many elements coming together, reflecting the diversity and strength of the American experience. The reference "With Liberty And Justice For All" embodies the essence of what this great country is all about.
