Western Michigan University - Grand Rapids
Marking 100 years of service to the Grand Rapids metropolitan community in 2009, WMU is deeply committed to the Fine Arts, which is a culturally important area for higher education and the communities we serve. The University’s art collection (conservatively valued above $3.5 million), includes drawings, paintings, prints, textiles, sculptures and ceramics that engender awareness and appreciation of the visual arts while enriching our lives in many subtle and under-appreciated ways. The Frostic School of Art, Department of Dance, School of Music, and the Department of Theatre together form the College of Fine Arts at WMU – a center dedicated to future-oriented creative excellence. WMU provides interdisciplinary opportunities to visual and performing artists in innovative spaces that foster the creation, exhibition, and study of art. Ample parking adjacent to building.
