Founded in 1977, the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts is Michigan’s largest contemporary arts center offering a brand new facility with one-of-a-kind gallery spaces and a state-of-the-art film theatre. UICA actively challenges both artists and audiences to new levels of dialogue, creative pursuit, reflection, and illumination through: groundbreaking visual arts exhibitions, thought-provoking performances and presentations, studio programs for local artists, cutting edge films as well as educational and expressive arts programs for youth and adults.
