(UN)DOCUMENTED / (IN)DOCUMENTADO This year, Rumsey Street returns as a community driven venue focused on honoring and documenting narratives that are crucial to the fabric of the neighborhood as it currently exists, working to maintain the cultural and historic elements of a community during major change. Artists show work in three buildings, slated for complete removal by the end of 2017 — an auto garage, a former church, and the church’s rectory — to present works that explore the complex narratives of pain, joy, and fear of a community in transition. The Cultura Collective returns to invite viewers to consider these perspectives, histories, and narratives and their varied forms of documentation in the midst of significant development and growth. UNDOCUMENTED / INDOCUMENTADO seeks to highlight the mostly untold stories of people directly affected by this growth, and to honor and maintain elements — both cultural and historic — of this community during major change.

We welcome our guests to build their own six packs, have a taste of something new on tap or a bit of both. We don't have our own kitchen, just a few snacks and bar bites. But if you're hungry for more, we have a collection of menus to choose from the Downtown Market. We are not snobs, we are beer geeks! We are students of our trade and take great pride in learning everything we can about beer; how it's made, what the ingredients are, what we should drink it from, what food a beer pairs well or can be made with. We are good beer, good people, and good times!

The Women’s City Club is a private club which resides in the historic Sweet House and offers memberships. The WCC transforms their space for ArtPrize. While the main floor retains it's historic look, but with the installation of AP art, the Auditorium is converted to a modern gallery with the addition of contemporary walls and lighting. In 2006, the Sweet House Foundation, a (501 c 3) non-profit, was established to preserve the history and architecture of the house. Martin Sweet, the original owner of the house, was a young entrepreneur when he came to Grand Rapids in 1846. He dreamed of a distinguished and spacious home for his family and in the early 1860’s built this home on the corner of Fulton and Lafayette. This Heritage Hill two-story Italianate Villa home survives as one of the remaining examples of this style of architecture in the latter part of the 19th century. For information on the house or the WCC, please call (616) 459-3321.
