To Build Community Strength and Enhance the Quality of Life through Art.
The Art Museum’s commitment to current and future generations includes opening its doors as the first newly-constructed, LEED Gold certified art museum in the world. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings.
The mission of the Grand Rapids Art Museum is to provide a gathering place where people of all ages and backgrounds can enrich their lives through interaction with authentic works of art of the finest quality in a thought-provoking and creative way.
