Exhibition statement
Because of the large and unique space at our restaurants we have many venue options and are willing to work with artists and are willing and able to accommodate the display of many different types of media. Here is a partial list of possible venues within our venue: 1) the main bistro with 17 foot ceilings and a front open entrance area and large windows. 2) a 500 square foot outdoor deck. 3) A bright Cafe with the possibility of an 400 square foot wood floor area 12 foot ceiling and windows on three sides. Please see pictures for an overview. While not necessary, we would like to have an artist display works that have a sustainable or "green" theme or is relating to food or Spain in some way. We are willing to help the artist with opening receptions, promotions, cooperation with other nearby venues, and possible installation costs.

Venue description
San Chez Restaurants, Inc. operates the largest ethnic restaurant in downtown G.R. Creating unique, authentic cuisine of Spain in 16,000 square feet of the Leonard Building. This 1880’s building offers high, original tin ceilings and sandblasted brick walls. It was the first restaurant in G.R. to offer a completely open, on stage kitchen, complete recycling, composting of all organic waste, and wind powered electricity through Consumers Energy’s Green Generations Program. San Chez Restaurants, Inc. consists of three major facets: 1) The original Tapas Bistro established in 1992 offering authentic tapas, featuring the colors, the flavors, the food and the fun of Spain. 2) San Chez Cafe bringing a uniquely casual, on-the-go café for breakfast and lunch. And, 3) We’ve taken tapas to new heights on our beautiful Special Events Third Floor banquet facility panoramically overlooking downtown. Tapas; more than just small plates, Oh the colors, the flavors, the food and the fun!
