Fountain Street Church is a beautiful, historic, downtown landmark. The Fountain Street Church Art Committee manages seven exhibitions each year, one of which is dedicated to ArtPrize. The Church has been an ArtPrize venue since the first event in 2009. In addition to works by ArtPrize artists, the stunning art and architecture of the Church sanctuary attracts many visitors. Once again, Fountain Street Church and the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan are collaborating to present an important ArtPrize* venue exploring issues of social justice. Social justice demands that basic human needs be met, diversity respected, and freedom of expression and action fostered. Works shown in past exhibitions have focused attention on war and the politics of poverty, race, religion, gender, ethnicity, education, and environmental stewardship.
'UICA Outside: Westside is located in the pedestrian tunnel below the Pearl Street bridge, adjacent to the Grand Rapids Public Museum. 'UICA Outside' draws together diverse artists and Grand Rapids stakeholders to create permanent artworks that are energizing and accessible to all. 'UICA Outside' expands UICA’s impact city-wide and connects visitors to the vibrant neighborhoods that surround downtown Grand Rapids. Each neighborhood will feature one or more large-scale work created by artists who reside and engage within their respective community, or who have designed artworks with neighborhood input and a focus on representation and expression after meetings with neighborhood associations and business owners, as well as community members and local artists.

We have two large store front display areas that can showcase various forms of art with electrical and lighting available as needed. There is ample parking adjacent to the rear of the building. Our neighborhood is bike and pedestrian friendly. There is a bus stop within 15 feet of the front door. Restrooms and seating are available for guest. We are ideally located between several restaurants and watering holes on the main corridor of Leonard. Many of these places in the past have also been venues to ArtPrize. SOS (Safety Orange Swimmers) is located in front of Ah-Nab-Awen Park. Oil+Water is located off the Pearl St. Bridge. The Grand River is the river running through the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, among the most visible public venue locations in all of ArtPrize. Since ArtPrize's inception, the Grand River venue has been host to some of the event's most challenging and memorable installations.

Since opening in 2008, Spectrum Health’s Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion has been the cancer center of choice for cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment in West Michigan. While select cancer services such as mammography, chemotherapy and radiation are offered at other Spectrum Health cancer care locations in the region, Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion serves as the comprehensive center of care for the more than 3,000 new cancer patients diagnosed and treated each year at Spectrum Health. The six-story, state-of-the-art building is home to the region's widest, most advanced array of outpatient cancer services.

You may enter the church through our glass vestibule (the cube) right off our parking lot (sorry - no public parking). Art is displayed in our lobby, gathering area, and adjacent hallway. St. Mark’s has a rich history dating back to October 6, 1836, when it was incorporated as an Episcopal parish in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At that time, Grand Rapids had only 500 inhabitants. In the spring of 1840, measures were taken to construct a suitable building. A parcel of land was donated at the corner now known as Division and Pearl streets. The present building was occupied in October 1848 and was consecrated on September 9, 1849. It is the oldest public building still standing in the city. Its features include walls made with stone quarried from the Grand River and the original, hand carved woodwork that is found throughout the interior.
The Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians office space is a very nice and clean part of Grand Rapids that offers much wall space for lots of art. It is the central offices of the tribe, but also hosts 5 other companies in their space. It is very convenient and a must see during art prize.

The GRPM has a prime location, in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, situated on the banks of the Grand River. This location, accessible and walkable from many other ArtPrize venues, makes it a key destination on the downtown pathway of ArtPrize art. The GRPM will host an outdoor exhibition by curating a rewarding experience with approachable art that is intriguing, distinctive and engages the viewer’s capacity for awe, curiosity and humor. With our unique setting along the busy river walkway, we are able to offer a not-to-be-missed immersive experience worthy of our fortunate location. The GRPM will offer outdoor art, as well as dynamic Museum exhibitions that will intrigue and draw visitors to this location.
Craft beer isn’t a section of the store for us . . . it’s what we are all about! We are a craft beer bottle shop with over 500 beers and a beer bar with 20 drafts, plus wine and spirits. We welcome our guests to build their own six packs, have a taste of something new on tap or a bit of both. We have a very small kitchen and serve up some great soft pretzels and hot dogs. Bend Gallery is an artist run collective & contemporary art gallery located in Grand Rapids, MI. Bend offers community activities in addition to exhibitions such as Books at Bend, a monthly book club, BIG SCREEN at Bend, a movie night event co-hosted by KCAD's Graduate run Alluvium gallery, and Unpolished, an informal critique series. Bend is also the home to Good Manufacturing Artist Collective, a group composed of eight artists who intend to create connections between their works which all utilize a variety of mediums. Ah-Nab-Awen Park is not available as a venue during the connections process. Ah-Nab-Awen Park is a long, narrow green space that runs along the west side of the Grand River. This park is adjacent to the Gerald R. Ford Museum and visible from the DeVos Convention Center (across the river). It is accessible by a pedestrian bridge that runs across the river as well as on-site parking. Another area of the park (not available for use for Artprize) houses three large, grassy mounds which were built in 1976 to symbolize Hopewell Indian burial mounds, which are native to the area. The park offers ample green space and a fantastic view of the Grand Rapids skyline.

The WestSide Project is a venue that encompasses the StockBridge neighborhood on the WestSide in conjunction with Rockford Construction and will feature primarily outdoor works. The B.O.B. (an acronym for Big Old Building) is located in downtown Grand Rapids. The 70,000-square-foot, four- story, red brick building was constructed in 1903 as Judson's grocery warehouse. It stood vacant for decades before The Gilmore Collection began its transformation, saving it from demolition. This is the working studio of Rose Ellis and Jim Starkey, and an exhibition gallery of their work. Rose and Jim create mainly original oil paintings, but the gallery also features museum-quality giclee prints of their work in various sizes. Their studio-gallery has been serving the downtown public since 2015. Rosemary Ellis's work is featured in several Michigan galleries, and she exhibits at art fairs statewide. Jim Starkey also exhibits his photographic work in the Artist's Studio, following his long career as a photographer for "The Grand Rapids Press."

We're not just a fish store, we're an aquarium gallery. Our display tanks have been carefully designed and aquascaped. With huge, wide windows and warm radiant and fireplace heat, Tavern on the Square provides great views of Grand Rapids' iconic Ionia St. Offers a diverse menu with Bar Fare, Yankee Tapas, Entrees, Sandwiches and Salads, along with 20 Draft Beers and Retro Cocktails.
The 300 foot layered sculptural element is comprised of granite, concrete and pockets of soil and vegetation. The sculptural wall functions as a flood wall while softening the river’s edge with native vegetation and creating small niches that shelter birds and other wildlife living along the river. The sculptural wall is reminiscent of stone foundations from an earlier time, emerging through the steep side of the riverbank. The indigenous plantings as well as the patina of the stone encourage associations with the past.
The venue is in the historic Sweet House which is transformed for ArtPrize. While the main floor retains its historic look, but with the installation of AP art, the Auditorium is converted to a modern gallery with the addition of contemporary walls and lighting. In 2006, the Sweet House Foundation, a (501 c 3) non-profit, was established to preserve the history and architecture of the house. Martin Sweet, the original owner of the house, was a young entrepreneur when he came to Grand Rapids in 1846. He dreamed of a distinguished and spacious home for his family and in the early 1860’s built this home on the corner of Fulton and Lafayette. This Heritage Hill two-story Italianate Villa home survives as one of the remaining examples of this style of architecture in the latter part of the 19th century.
SiTE:LAB is a nomadic all-volunteer artist-led initiative that has organized over 20 projects primarily in underutilized sites in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Project sites have included: An entire city block, an abandoned natural history museum, a nature preserve, vacant commercial buildings, and a once-grand downtown hotel. The General Services Administration has had a long history of incorporating art into Federal Buildings. GSA commissions American artists to create publicly scaled and permanently installed artworks for Federal Buildings nationwide. The incorporation of contemporary art within the nation's important civic spaces celebrates the best of American culture and exemplifies how democratic societies benefit immeasurably from the unique, creative talents of individual citizens. Federal Buildings are public buildings, meant to be enjoyed and utilized by the people of this nation. ArtPrize presents a unique opportunity to encourage people to visit the Federal Building and stroll the grounds to view the artwork. On permanent display on the west lawn is the large sculpture Motu Viget by Mark DiSuvero.
