It all started to come together when I was very young. A proud native of Wichita, Kansas, my grandpa gave me my first pair of cowboy boots. The boots, hats, stories and folklore of my heritage were the talk on the front porch. I can still smell the salt pork and the Mississippi mud cake Aunt Mona baked. As a child, I often hid away from the rest of the family for hours and taught myself to draw, and today I paint the tools, legends and hard working American Cowboys that have consumed my heart and soul. The best I can explain, I was born to paint the West. I cannot imagine painting anything but those footprints. It is my intention to preserve and promote the West in its greatest traditions. That's the Cowboy in me.
