ArtGram is a project that looks at the value of mobile images as Art. All images were created using an iPhone and practical effects. These images are un-manipulated and straight from the camera. The final image was created by photographing the screen the image is displayed on.
At close proximity you can distinguish individual RGB pixels, while the recognizable shapes take form as you move away from the image. Our goal is to understand how mobile technology can be used as a tool to create fine art.
ArtGram dissects the "digital-ness" of creating with modern technology. Instead of trying to hide what makes the image what it is, we have tired to "exploit" what makes digital photography "digital". By making the pixels obvious and un-avoidable, we create a striking image that puts the viewer face to face with the methods used to create the images we see on a daily basis on phones, tablets, and computers.
