This drawing is made entirely out of tape. The drawing continues to change every day and if you have seen it before, its time to come look at it again. Phase 2 of the story is unfolding and Grand Rapids is about to be saved from the CatFish scourge. For all of Art Prize we have been responding in real time to the steady stream of people and vehicles passing by us on Fulton Street. We are drawing a portrait of this stretch of Grand Rapids being momentarily disrupted by a fanciful swarm of giant fish descending down on the sidewalk to steal everyone's wheels. City buses, tandem bikes, skateboards, razor scooters, roller skates and horse carriages are snatched from the streets. Every person and wheeled object in the drawing are portraits drawn from life. For close to two weeks we have been outside 14 hours a day talking with the public and drawing. Roll on by and say hello, touch the artwork and look for people in the drawing you may have seen around town.
