"The Building Blocks of our Community" is a piece developed by The MLive Team, and presented at the MLive and The Grand Rapids Press Hub. Its images symbolize our connection to the community in which we live and work, and portrays many different elements, or building blocks, of what makes up our community. Impactful, beautiful, significant, inspirational, captivating, meaningful images were carefully selected, for a large-scale installation on the exterior of the windows, for all to experience. *Please visit us at 169 Monroe ave, directly across from Rosa Parks Circle, to see our piece and to read about each photo individually. Photographers include Chris Clark, Emily Zoladz and Cory Morse. Design efforts were coordinated by Andy Olson, and the creative team including Sheri Nicholson, Corina VanDuinen, Melvin Blohn and Nicole Zaagman.

Venue & Connection Information

The MLive and Grand Rapids Press hub is the venue for this piece. It is an outdoor piece only, with best viewing from the street below, or across the street (find the giant "X" on the sidewalk on Monroe, in front of Rosa Parks Circle!). This piece fills all the windows on the 2nd floor level of the hub, and windows next to the entrance on the ground level.
