A Solemn Request

A prayer is a request to God...Do we actually expect our prayers to be answered? Written in the sunlight are New-Testament verses, including Matthew 6:5-15, Mark 11:20-26, Luke 18:1-14, John 15:1-17, Philippians 1:3-6 & 4:4-7. These verses, are unreadable in the painting, however in scripture they shine a light onto the meaning and the purpose of prayer. In the remainder of the sky is written most of Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, 1 & 2 Samuel, and portions of the Psalms. These words lay the foundation of the story between heaven and earth and so it seems fitting that they would bridge the gap from man to God. Written in the trees are the words of Isaiah connecting the new and the old Testament. The dirt itself is the passage from James 5 called the Prayer of Faith a final reminder on the power of prayer with the Shema written in Hebrew over top. Standing on the foundations of the church the young girls prayers are lifted in the balloons to heaven.
