Tammy (firstname.lastname@example.org) is an artist who paints with oils and acrylics on canvas and creates mixed media artworks. She paints using photographs, still-life arrangements, and her own drawings for reference and inspiration. She creates portraits of people, statues, animals, and flowers from her gardens in a realistic style. She hopes to reproduce the objects or images while remaining “painterly” with visible brushstrokes. Tammy was born in Flint and began drawing and sewing as a child. She is a lifelong Michigan resident and currently lives in Grand Blanc with her youngest daughter, two cats, one black lab, and two chinchillas. Her art studies began at Mott Community College, and her first degree was in Clothing and Textiles from Michigan State University. She later earned a BS in Art Education, a BFA in Studio Art, and masters degrees in Literacy and Special Education from UM-Flint. While attending UM-Flint, she was awarded best of discipline in Mixed-Media and Painting during annual student shows. Tammy was a Guest Artist at Mott Middle College, and a museum art school instructor at the Flint Institute of Arts in Flint, MI.
