I served in the Navy during WW II in Australia and on a ship in the South Pacific. I then attended Michigan State University and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. I worked as a art teacher for a year before I began working for a large commercial film production company and eventually became an animator and production designer. After retiring from free lance animation in the 90’s, wrote and illustrated a children book which was published in 2008. I have since written my first novel titled “Murder at Our Lady of Sorrows,” a story about a gifted family and their fabled tree house. After a year or so of going on a writing binge I published my memoir titled "Another Fine Mess". I am now planing to paint again. I am now 93 years old, still trying to break into the artprize winner circle, how much time do I have left? My style of painting has changed over the years from abstract expressisem to hard edge graphic abstracts with the emphasis on color and design. In my recent submission, Six Rainbows, all six 30 X 40 works were not intended to depict rainbows as they appear in nature but to represent them in an abstract graphic composition in an attempt to capture their spirit if they have one. The fact that the design is similar in all six works will hopefully become a new style in contemporary art.
