2013 ArtPrize VenueMUSIC: St. Cecilia Music Center is the music hub during ArtPrize. NEW THIS YEAR, St. Cecilia will be awarding PRIZE MONEY to five different musical genres based on the popular vote in each genre. Winners will receive $2,000 of prize money and a package of other great opportunities. Genres include pop/electronic; rock/blues; classical; jazz andfolk/country. Listening stations will feature recordings of all original compositions and 4 days of live performances will be scheduled. Musical entries will be eligible for the ArtPrize grand prize and will also have the opportunity to win a performance jury award this year. We want to host all types of musical entries and will not require but will encourage live performance dates. Recordings of the piece must be provided. VISUAL: We will be hosting visual art in our Terryberry Gallery. Outdoor art space is available, two-dimensional artwork will be the majority of work in the gallery. Musically-themed artwork is a bonus.
St. Cecilia Music Center is the oldest arts organization in the region so while you enjoy ArtPrize exhibits you can also tour our historical landmark home. St. Cecilia Music Center is the music hub during ArtPrize. In addition to our Terryberry Gallery that features visual art, we have listening stations featuring musical ArtPrize entries. The first ten days of ArtPrize you can enjoy live performances featuring ArtPrize musicians on a rotating basis, as well as headliner bands the first two Saturdays of ArtPrize. St. Cecilia will be awarding five cash prizes to different musical genres based on your votes!
