St. Cecilia Music Center is the oldest arts organization in the region so while you enjoy ArtPrize exhibits you can also tour our historical landmark home. St. Cecilia Music Center is the music hub during ArtPrize. In addition to our Terryberry Gallery that features visual art, we have listening stations featuring musical ArtPrize entries. St. Cecilia Music Center will host live performances featuring ArtPrize musical entries outside the building and in our President's room on a daily basis for the first 10 days of ArtPrize as part of the "busking locations" throughout Grand Rapids. Musical entries will be performing at various sites throughout the city to exhibit their musical entry. St. Cecilia will be awarding five cash prizes to different musical genres based on your votes!

Artist & Connection Information
MUSIC: St. Cecilia Music Center is the music hub during ArtPrize. Again this year, St. Cecilia will be awarding $2,000 in PRIZE MONEY to five different musical genres based on the popular vote in each genre ($10,000 total.) Genres are pop/electronic; rock/blues; classical; jazz and folk/country. Listening stations located in the St. Cecilia library will feature recordings of all original compositions. When registering for ArtPrize as a musical artist choose the Time-based category. St. Cecilia will host two of the many busking stations that will be featured throughout the city on a daily basis for the first 10 days of the event. Musical entries will be eligible for the ArtPrize grand prize and a Time-based jury and/or public vote award this year, in addition to the SCMC prize money. A professional recording of the piece must be provided by September 1, 2014. VISUAL: We will be hosting visual art in our Terryberry Gallery. Musically-themed artwork is a bonus.
