I am a self-taught fine art photographer from the Chicago area. My processing technique involves enhanced coloration and variations of light to emphasize a sense of texture and bring added depth to the detail in my photographs. I enjoy working with a variety of subject matters, but often find myself drawn to nature, landscapes and architecture. Through my photography, I am interested in taking what is already present in the world and bringing a new focus or line of thought to the subject of the piece. My main goal is to connect the viewer with the piece so that they may find a new or interesting facet or perspective within the work to consider, something that intrigues them, no matter how small that aspect may seem. The focus may be on the beauty of an element of nature, an article of harshness that may lie within the reality of everyday life, the way a set of lines in an abstract work is portrayed or the particular coloring of a piece of art. I am also a painter, focusing on abstract art, and have written poetry for several years.
