Originally from Kentucky, Scott Carter is a Chicago based artist, whose work draws influence from areas of sculpture, installation art, design and architecture. His work manifests as immersive environments and installations that facilitate subtle shifts of value and and attempt to redefine utility in relation to each project/space. Scott, previously, spent six years as an emerging artist and student in Atlanta and recently received his MFA in Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he received the first annual Eldon Danhausen Fellowship for Sculpture. He recently attended two funded residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and the Ox Bow School of Art and completed a solo exhibition at the Contemporary Art Center of Las Vegas. Currently he is working towards a solo exhibition at Linda Warren Projects in Chicago.
