Sarah Wohlfeil has been involved the field of child welfare for over nine years as a youth advocate at a residential center, foster care case worker and foster home licensing worker. As a member of the Kent County Coalition, she shares in the child’s heartache as she makes numerous calls to foster homes, trying to find a safe haven for children to go to when they have been removed from an unsafe home life. She understands the crisis of needing more foster homes as she waits in her office for hours with a seven year old who needs a home or as she is forced to place siblings in separate homes, just so they have a safe place to sleep. This need for more foster homes inspires her to create entries for Art Prize along with the other members of the team in order to generate more awareness and interest in foster care. This is her second year being involved with Art Prize.
