Sara Wild was born in Watertown, Wisconsin. Wild is currently a senior at Western Michigan University. Pursuing a dual degree, BFA in Sculpture and a BS in Geography with a Geology minor. Before transferring to Western Michigan University she studied Editing and Post-Production at Columbia College Chicago. Wild has participated in cross-disciplinary collaborations at Western Michigan University, her most recent with a chemist and a composer for the STEAM collaboration. Data was collected from a beer sample put through a Mass Spectrometer. The data collected was then used by their composer and Wild to compose a piece of music and fabricate a work of art that was presented at Art Hop in the Saniwax Gallery at the Park Trades Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Since studying at WMU Wild has received Second Place Show Award at the Gwen Frostic School of Art Annual Student Exhibition (2018), the Walter Enz Award (2017), Art Star Award (2017), Forth Place Show Award at the Gwen Frostic School of Art Annual Student Exhibition (2016), and the Frostic School of Art Scholar Award (2016). Wild’s current work explores geometric shapes and volumes, and the phycological effects of undiagnosed chronic illnesses.
