2013 ArtPrize Entry

Health can be obtained through the consumption of pharmaceuticals; therefore medicine has become a commodity that society is dependent upon to survive. Modern medicine revolves around the theory that there is a pill for every condition. In general our society has become accustomed to having a drug to cure deficiencies and not fix initial health problems. Prescriptions have a promise to cure, encouraging people to believe in the industry regardless of all the warnings and alerts. My artwork is a search for truth, changing the way we view the industry and bringing understanding from an artistic angle rather than scientific. Whether positive or negative, viewers can bring their own opinions to the work about pharmaceuticals. The goal is to inspire people to think about what they are putting into their bodies.
