Celebration of Place
2012 ArtPrize EntryThis landscape painting on framed stretched canvas will be 3'x4'. The image is part of a series of works celebrating the spirit of place. I am particularly interested in the marks of human cultivation imposed on the rolling hills of our state, particularly the Leelanau peninsula, often set off by distant hills or dunes. This piece will include crop patterns and an occasional fencepost echoing my childhood memories of growing up on a mid-Michigan farm, planned and planted by my father and grandfather.
