Sally England is a fiber artist specializing in her own distinct style of modern macramé. Driven by her reverence for the craft process along with the intimacy of using her hands as a tool, Sally's macramé work brings new regard to an age-old technique steeped in nostalgia. As a second generation artist and knotter, Sally grew up in the Michigan countryside surrounded by magical forests, fields, and lakes. Her kinship with the outdoors has translated into her affection for using natural materials and creating textural work with the goal of bringing solace to interior environments. After pursuing an MFA in Applied Craft & Design in Portland, Oregon, Sally returned to her home state of Michigan where she has a studio on The Avenue of the Arts. Sally has created commissioned works for homes across the U.S, and for clients like Nike, ACE Hotel, and Roman and Williams. She was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal and The Chicago Tribune.
