Menstruation
2012 ArtPrize EntryWomen seldom celebrate our amazing monthly cycle of death and resurrection. Menstruation highlights the pain and beauty of this ordinary miracle in glowing terms. Red marsh stick, molded into long spirals, is suspended around two tubes of red neon. The marsh stick is free to move and twist as the air moves around it. The neon reflects onto the surface of the sticks, and issues a lovely soft brilliance.
