First Spark

“First Spark” is an artistic expression that depicts the event of a new spark of life. The theme is that it is inherent in life that "life wants to live." This message is supported by a "secular reasoning" of eleven inferred statements. A flamboyant red "spark" element is supported by discreet displays of the male and female contributions to the mystery of life's beginning. The sculpture is supported on a 2 inch high base with a 4 foot diameter footprint. The sculpture stands 10 feet high with an 8 foot width and breadth at the 6 foot level. The male contribution element is an 8 inch by 10 inch elliptical shape made from fiberglass. This is supported by metal tubing covered with translucent plastic. The female contribution element is a 34 inch sphere made from wire mesh. The spark element is made from painted steel tubing. The eleven statements can be viewed separately.
