I've been drawing and painting most of my life. I received my Art degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. After graduating, I studied under Larry Kaiser and later honed my techniques under Robert Hoffman. I painted photorealistic paintings for many years but yearned for the painterly aspects of the plein air artists. I met a friar named Ed Mundwillar who took me to my first plein air event in downtown Indianapolis. I was pleased at my first attempt and I have been painting 95% of my paintings outdoors since, with the occasional commissioned painting in the studio. Once I moved into the West Michigan area, I realized that there was a cornucopia of subject matter surrounding me. I have covered many counties and have painted many lakes, rivers and streams, orchards and old barns in this part of the state. There are many more paintings out there just waiting for more artists to discover them. I love experimenting and learning.
