Nine doors fill a 32’ long hallway. As you travel through the corridor of doors you have an opportunity to engage with others. As you encounter a passerby, a social and spatial negotiation occurs. One can step aside and open a door; a courteous gesture is elicited. materials: hollow core doors, double acting spring hinges, plexiglass, masonite, wood, cfl variable temperature range from 2300 K-6500 K

Venue & Connection Information

The 'Courtesy Hallway | Doors' installation is composed of 9 double acting spring hinged doors. When installed it is at a full length of 32 ft. The units are 4ftx8ft with the 'first' and 'last' doors being framed to the dimensions of the space. The main electrical or lighting needed is within each of the 8 spaces created by the door frame. If track lighting is available then fixtures can be situated along the track for installation of the bare bulb lighting fixtures.
