Cosmic Paradigm

In an October bike ride near Hawk Island Park in Lansing, Michigan, amid the beauty of falling leaves, wooded forests, bird calls and small animals, I wondered if life may exist elsewhere in the universe, and if it does, could it be as beautiful as this? These thoughts inspired me to attempt to paint a new kind of realism that is not just based on a sense of being here on earth, such as surrealism, or not just energetic realism such as super-realism, but rather a realism that speaks to an awareness of the whole of the universe or cosmos. I wanted this painting to see form as if for the first time. This painting is about form that we see and experience every day in our world here on our home planet Earth. Are there other worlds in the universe with such beauty and life as this? We still do not have evidence of such existence. This painting is a thought model or paradigm for such life. by Paul Wolber
