I believe that both art and nature are uplifting, healing, and empowering. In Spring 2012, I served as artist-in-residence at the Grand Canyon National Park, helping visitors experience and express a deeper connection with nature’s wonders through art. My ArtPrize entry, "Colors of Time" brings the canyon home to Michigan. My medium is "Digital Silk Painting" - a marriage of digital photography, silk painting, and hand-guided machine quilting and embroidery. The purpose of the stitching is to texturize the surface of the silk and to form "facets" of reflected light simulating the luminescence we see in nature.
These are Nancy's official ArtPrize entries from this year and past years.
