Sand Patterns
2012 ArtPrize EntryI have been fascinated for many years with the interesting patterns left in the sand when the tide receeds from the beach. They are in many shapes and designs which I have tried to visualize and capture on paper. They are seen as if through a magnifying glass. Magnified sand and receeding rivelits become intricate designs in my vision. The result appears abstract yet depicts a unique moment in time for each grain of sand.
