GLORY
2012 ArtPrize EntryGlory is a testament to the iconic stature of the United States flag. Interpreted in polished brass, copper, and aluminum, with 1000 watts of incandescent lights emanating from the stars, Glory invites the viewer to separate their conventional red/white/blue expectations from the reality before them - bright, shiny, rich, real.

Photos are of the maquette constructed to proof construction and appearance of finished piece. "Glory" is constructed of a wood space-frame foundation that provides the overall shape, form, and strength. Polished copper, brass, and aluminum are applied in the configuration of the U.S. flag with 50, 20-watt incandescent lights penetrating the stars. "Glory" will be displayed as a free-standing sculpture. Power requirements are 10 amps, 115 VAC, 60 Hz.
