Mellissa Redman earned her Bachelor's Degree in Painting and Drawing from the University of Akron in 2012 and her Master's Degree of Fine Art in Painting at the Kendall College of Art and Design in 2015. A native of Akron, Ohio, Mellissa volunteered her time and artwork to the local YMCA and YWCA chapters, the University of Akron Ballet Institute, the City of Akron, and the Akron Children's Hospital. While living in the Grand Rapids area she exhibited work with KCAD's graduate painting collective Master's Circle, Avenue for the Arts, and in other local exhibitions. She participated in ArtPrize 2013 as an artist, as a curator in 2014, and as a gallery greeter at the Fed Galleries at KCAD in 2015. Though she works with water---based media, her paintings also include drawing, digital media, printing and collage. Mellissa now resides in Akron, OH where she is working as an Art Specialist at the Shaw Jewish Community Center.
