Megan Constance Altieri was born in 1990 in Bay Village, Ohio. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art Education and Psychology from Hope College in 2013. For the past 4 years, she has worked in Grand Rapids, Michigan as a high school art teacher at Wellspring Preparatory High School. Conceptually, her work focuses on the effect of relationships on identity, the peculiarity of human nature, and the articulation of the ethereal world. Formally, her work can be seen in both two and three dimensions and addresses visual dichotomies through reduction carving and the manipulation of found materials, fabric, and thread. Megan most enjoys spending time in the company of her friends, family, and students. When not making art or teaching, she is exercising, camping, and making conversation with the people around her!
