I awake each morning with a hunger. I joke it is like the need to "feed the beast" the need to be creative, to craft something that has never existed before. As a media producer/director I have worked on projects throughout the world for the past forty years. With projects produced for PBS (Dialogue, Will Our Children Thank Us?) and Discovery Channel Europe (Expedition 360) I began working in the Middle East with funding from KQED-TV and ITVS on the online documentary series Jerusalem: A Living History in 2002. I have been here on a continuing basis since, producing videos primarily for non-profit organizations including Oxfam, Mercy Corps and InterNews. Currently I am living in the Old City of Nazareth and traveling regularly to the West Bank village of Al Aqaba where I am photographing each resident of the community for the traveling museum/gallery exhibition titled FACING AL AQABA. <www.facing-al-aqaba.com> Academically I have a BA in Film Production from the University of Denver, Denver, Colorado and have studied at the American Film Institute's Digital Content Lab, Los Angeles where I specialised in the production of online interactive documentary programming. I've also taught on the faculties of American University, Washington, DC, The New School for Social Research, and the University of Bridgeport. Prior to working in the Middle East, for many years I was a producer with Video Free America, San Francisco where I was involved with the production and editing of projects internationally with clients ranging from Cisco Systems to the San Francisco Unified School District. I've been the recipient of numerous programming awards including four Emmy nominations in local documentary programming and national first place honours from the National Cable Television Association. In 2013 our ArtPrize entry FACING AL AQABA received short list nominations in two categories, best use of urban space and best time-based installation.
