Caps off to Michigan

Matthew Brechting's avatar Matthew Brechting

Two hand built tables made with walnut tabletops that still have a bark edge and rough end cut. The tabletops were routed out to inlay bottle caps arraigned in the shape of Michigan's Lower and Upper Peninsulas. The caps were then covered in a resin that sealed them to the walnut top. The legs were made with West Michigan Cherry branches, that had the bark removed and show the bug tracks and the wood grain. The legs of the table and the rough edge bark contribute to a rustic outdoor appearance. Each table is approximatly 24x40x24
