Mason Taylor

East Lansing, MI, United States

I was raised on a ranch in the outskirts of Cimarron, New Mexico, in the shadow of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Starting with baling wire scraps found while roaming the ranch as a child, I began manipulating it into forms of the inhabitants of that area - from lizards to horses. I have since expanded my sculptures to include more exotic animals such as lions, rhinos and the like. In addition, I paint primarily western scenes and horses using acrylic on canvas. Being completely color blind from birth, I feel my strengths include detail and three-dimensional depth in my art.
