Born in South Africa in the early sixties, Mark is a gifted self-taught artist. "I had this passion to create, so I started to draw and experiment with pencil and charcoal. Over time, all the other mediums followed. Tertiary education in Nature Conservation gave Mark an intense respect for the African Bush and its wildlife. He is a member of the Game Ranger's Association and Field Guides Association of South Africa. Mark has had various exhibitions in his country. In addition to private commissions, he has illustrated a series of books on Africa i.e. African Safari Journal, Ethnic Tribes of Africa, Fauna and Flora and the Fly-Fishing Journal. Mark annually donates paintings for fundraising events to support HIV infected orphans of Africa. "I do believe it is my love for the bush that guides my talent to create a painting. It is that very passion that will always make me realize I am but a student in this amazing world we live in."
