Coke and Lime Back
2012 ArtPrize EntryThe main instrumental line of the song came to me after a very rough night of hanging out in New York City. I woke up that morning having no idea how I had gotten home, but remembering some of the awful things that had happened the night before, and hearing these bells in my head that would not go away. I sat down at the keyboard at my buddy's apartment and wrote the song pretty much as is. The only problem was that I had been drinking Jagermeister that night, and i had come to the conclusion that Jagermeister was not a very good word to sing. So I changed It to Jameson Irish Whiskey, my drink of choice. The Coke and Lime part came about because I needed a rhyme to go with "somebody had a good time." So I added the line, "Jameson with Coke and lime." Now anybody knows you don't drink a fine whiskey like Jameson with Coke. By buddy came through with the solution. Call the song, Coke and Lime Back. So I did.
